Through this collaboration, one of Romania's most prestigious international women's tennis tournaments and one of the country's leading gold jewelry manufacturers aim to promote both elite sport and local creativity and craftsmanship.
30 Years of Excellence in Jewelry Making
Founded in Iași in 1996, Coriolan is one of Romania's leading manufacturers of fine jewelry crafted from precious metals.
With 30 years of experience, the company designs and produces its own collections of jewelry, wedding bands, and engagement rings. Every stage of the process—from concept and design to production and finishing—is carried out at Coriolan's production facility in Iași.
Custom-Made Trophies for the 2026 Edition
For the 2026 edition of the UniCredit Iași Open WTA 250, Coriolan will once again create the trophies awarded to the singles and doubles champions.
The concept, design, and production are developed entirely by the Coriolan team, with each trophy created exclusively for this event and featuring a visual identity deeply rooted in the tournament's values and the region's cultural heritage.
A Symbol of Dynamism, Balance, and Strength
The trophy depicts the stylized silhouette of a tennis player serving, composed of modern geometric shapes that convey dynamism, balance, and strength.
At the heart of the design is a tennis racket crafted from silver and pearl, a distinctive detail that showcases Coriolan's expertise in working with precious metals while giving the trophy its unique character.
Inspired by the Cucuteni Culture
The trophy also incorporates motifs inspired by the Cucuteni culture, reinterpreted through a contemporary design language.
Circular elements inspired by the distinctive decorations found on Cucuteni ceramics create a subtle connection between sporting excellence and one of the most valuable cultural legacies of the Moldavia region.
As a result, the trophy becomes more than a symbol of victory—it stands as an expression of local identity and excellence.
Through this partnership, Coriolan and the UniCredit Iași Open WTA 250 continue to celebrate performance, innovation, and local values, presenting the tournament champions with a unique trophy designed and crafted in Iași, inspired by the spirit of the competition.
